PKR leaders are filing police reports nationwide calling for action to be taken against the three who exposed a sex video implicating the party supremo.

KUALA LUMPUR: PKR leaders are filing police reports nationwide against the three individuals collectively known as “Datuk T” who exposed a sex video implicating Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim.

Batu MP Tian Chua and Kelana Jaya MP Loh Gwo Burne urged the police to investigate and arrest the three men before filing a report with the Dang Wangi police district headquarters this morning.

Tian said the three should be investigated for criminal intimidation for “blackmailing” Anwar and his wife, PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, to step down.

He added that the trio should also be investigated for screening obscene material, an offence under both Section 292 of the Penal Code and Section 5 of the Film Censorship Act 2002.

“The law is very clear on these two aspects. They didn’t say why they want Anwar and Wan Azizah to step down; it’s obviously an intimidation tactic.

“They even said they wouldn’t send the video to the police but show them to Pakatan Rakyat MPs to ask them to jump ship; this is not connected to ‘exposing the truth’ as they claim to be doing,” he said.

“We all know Rahim’s reputation. For someone like that to ask for high morals is a joke,” he added, referring to former Malacca chief minister Rahim Tamby Chik who was once implicated in a sex scandal himself.

Urging the police to launch a fair and thorough probe into the “dirty trio”, Loh said: “I hope that these sorts of gutter politics will be eliminated from our country once and for all.”

Meanwhile, it was reported that 30 Kedah PKR members held a brief rally outside the Alor Setar police station demanding the arrest of the “Datuk T” trio. Another police report was lodged in Penang yesterday.

On Monday, selected journalists and editors were invited to the Carcosa Seri Negara hotel where a video recording of a couple having sex was shown to them.

The organisers of the screening, led by a man who identified himself only as “Datuk T”, claimed that the man in the video was Anwar.

However, Anwar and his Pakatan colleagues have vehemently denied the accusation.

Yesterday, PKR Sungai Petani MP Johari Abdul claimed that he was shown the video and was enticed to leave his party by “Datuk T”.

Hours later, Rahim held a press conference, where he revealed that “Datuk T” was made up of himself, businessman Shazryl Eskay Abdullah and Perkasa treasurer Shuib Lazim.

He said the “T” was short for “Trio”.
