Pop sensation Nadhira has just released her first Malay single ‘Rindu’ and is expected to blaze up the charts in similar fashion to her award winning song ‘Tear us Apart’. Nadhira recently bagged the Gold for the Best Pop Song category at the VIMA music awards 2012.

She gets candid:
You’ve been asked to pose nude for a magazine and this is your best chance to gain publicity… would you do it?
If the objective for me posing nude is to gain publicity then the answer is NO. I probably will not do it because you can earn publicity doing other things such as; making good music :)

All of life is energy vibrating at different frequencies. It has been said, the universe is a uni-verse, one song or vibration that plays throughout existence and gives us life. When we get in tune with that tone, we are in harmony with life. Music is a way we can tap into that power. That is why we feel music with our whole being. It moves us, stimulates our imagination, opens emotions, and can pass language and cultural barriers. It lives on a primal level, one that we all can connect with. – Joe Anonymous
Say what you mean and act how you feel, because those who matter don’t mind, and those who do mind don’t matter. – Dr Seuss

Malaysian-born singer-songwriter Nadhira is back following her global travels to find inspiration with her second album – 12 Shades. The first single off the album – Tear Us Apart – featureing Ron E Jones (produced by Tom Diesel, Australia) not only topped the charts but also landed her a Gold award in the Best Pop category at the VIMAs.
“It’s been an amazing year and even the way this album came together is a story in itself. For instance, the lead single off 12 Shades happened to be the last song I recorded for the album. After meeting Ron E Jones while he was visiting Malaysia to work with a select group of artists, we decided that it would be a wonderful collaboration if we could work together. The result is Tear Us Apart. The fact that Tom Diesel was available to produce the track just made it that much more special,” said Nadhira.
A classically trained pianist, Nadhira has over the years moved in various directions including rock, blues, jazz, soul and R&B. These began to make their presence felt on her inaugural album “From Malaysia with Love” that was launched to critical acclaim in 2010. 12 Shades takes her infinitely matured skills and talents to new heights and presents her fans old and new alike an intriguing exploration of life, love and everything in between as seen through this songbird’s eyes.
“Other tracks on the album see me collaborating with Canadian rapper Vandal and Indonesian reggae ambassador Ras Muhamad as well which adds yet another dimension to this colourful album. One of the two Bahasa Malaysia tracks, ‘Sendiri’ is also of particular note as it was composed by Aldisya Latuihamallo – better known for his work producing with Indonesian Superstar Glenn Fredly. The remainder of the album is produced, mixed and mastered by Indonesian producer Wisnu “Wizzow” Prastowo who’s diverse body of work compliments me in so many ways and is what really sets 12 Shades apart from anything else like it in Malaysia,” Nadhira added.
