Here are just some of the ways that coffee can help you look and feel your best!

Everyone loves the aroma of a good ol’ cup of java joe, especially early in the morning when you need that lil’ kick to start your day! And now we have discovered that coffee also makes you look good, inside and out! Here are just some of the ways that coffee can help you look and feel your best!

A cup of coffee a day keeps the doctor away!

Move over apples, medical experts claim that taking a cup of coffee a day can eradicate damaging radical molecules and can also lower the chances of type-two diabetes. This is because coffee contains antioxidants, also found in black tea, which you normally gain from fruits and vegetables.

Beauty Au Lait

Did you know that scientific research has shown that coffee helps reduce cellulite? Wow! Now isn’t that a miracle every girl wishes for! But downing 10 cups of Latte isn’t the answer, you need to use the coffee externally. How it works is that the coffee breaks up the fatty tissues that create cellulite and the fat is then dissolved.

Coffee scrub recipe

• Mix about a quarter-cup of warm used coffee grounds with a tablespoon of olive oil.

• Apply the coffee mixture to your cellulite areas using your hands or a loofah mitt.

• Wrap the area in plastic wrap and allow to remain on for several minutes.

• Remove wrap and brush off excess coffee mixture. Shower with warm water.

• This procedure is most effective when repeated twice a week.

You can even mix the coffee grounds with cheap hand cream and repeat above steps, it works just as well! Remember, it has to be ground coffee, not instant

Can’t get rid of that Curry smell on your hands? Coffee works as a great deodoriser. Just rub a handful of used grounds on your hands and rinse with warm water. It can even get rid of other stinky smells like onions and fish. You can even fill small muslin pouches with used coffee grounds and put them in your drawers to avoid musky smells and even use it in the shower!

Espresso hair

Don’t know what to do with dry, lackluster hair? Espresso comes to the rescue with this simple coffee hair mask. Make a strong brew of coffee (or espresso if you have an espresso machine at home) and allow it to cool until it is no longer hot. Once it’s warm, apply the coffee to dry hair, leave on for 20 minutes (no wrapping required!) and rinse off with warm water. The result? Shinier hair after just one application!

Perk-up Java facial

Early in the morning, a little bit of coffee grounds mixed into your facial wash can help awaken your senses and lift your mood. Scientific research also claims that it can firm the skin and tighten the lines that form on our face during sleep. The acid also helps slough off dead skin cells, bringing out your skin’s natural radiance.

Caffeine facial wash recipe

Mix 1/4 cup used coffee grounds and one egg white, combining well.

Massage gently onto face, and then allow to dry.

Rinse off with warm water. If you have dry skin, follow this facial with your moisturizer.
