PAS leaders arrested, more leaders likely to be held

Also arrested was PKR vice-president and Kuantan MP Fuziah Salleh. She was arrested at KL Sentral.

KUALA LUMPUR: PAS vice-president  Mahfuz Omar and Kubang Kerian PAS member of parliament Salahuddin Ayub were arrested by the police at KL Sentral around noon today.

The two leaders were held for being participants of the banned Bersih 2.0 rally.

Mahfuz confirmed the arrest through a SMS message to FMT. The two leaders are most likely to be brought to the police training centre at Jalan Semarak or to the Jinjang police station.

Also arrested was PKR vice-president and Kuantan MP Fuziah Salleh. She was arrested at KL Sentral.

FMT journalist also report that Parti Keadilan Rakyat president Wan Azizah Wan Ismail is at the Kuala Lumpur Hilton which is in the vicinity of KL Sentral.

Also spotted in the vicinity is Anwar Ibrahim and daughter and Lembah Pantai member of parliament Nurul Izzah Anwar. DAP advisor Linm Kit Siang was also spotted at KL Hilton.

Meanwhile, reports on the ground also say that the police have fired tear gas on about 3,000 Bersih rally supporters at Dataran Merdeka.
