Shahbudin: BN flags upside down, Umno’s at half-mast

 | March 2, 2016

In the hearts of many Umno supporters, the party has "died."

KUALA LUMPUR: A political analyst has noted, in his latest blog posting, that Umno flags in Johor are being flown at half-mast. “This is a sign of protest by Muhyiddin Yassin’s supporters against the party.”

Muhyiddin, who was sacked as Deputy Prime Minister in July last year, was suspended as Umno Deputy President last Friday.

“Muhyiddin’s supporters believe that Umno has been unjust towards him,” said Shahbudin Husin the analyst. “Previously, Barisan Nasional (BN) flags were flown upside down in several parts of Johor.”

Obviously, said the analyst, flying Umno flags at half-mast was more ominous than flying BN flags upside down. “In the hearts of many Umno supporters, the party has ‘died’.”
