Touch and No Go after use at car park terminals?
Management looks into complaints of payment card malfunctions after being used at some public parking terminals.
PETALING JAYA: Anyone facing problems with their Touch ‘n Go cards after using them at public parking terminals has been asked to seek help.
In a statement in response to complaints of malfunctioning cards caused by public parking terminals in Kuala Lumpur, Touch ‘n Go chief executive officer Syahrunizam Samsudin said the company had only recently received such complaints.
Actor and comedian Harith Iskander was one of those affected. He told FMT that he used his Touch ‘n Go card at a parking terminal in Taman Tun Dr Ismail and later at the Penchala Link toll plaza but it did not work.
The toll attendant advised him to get the card “debugged” by Touch ‘n Go. Harith said the attendant told him that some cards may have been infected with a “virus” at some parking terminals.
Syahrunizam however dismissed the claim that the Touch ‘n Go cards could be infected by a computer virus from the public parking terminals. He said this was not possible.
He said only a minimal number of cards was affected and preliminary investigations had identified only a few parking terminals. The company’s technical team was working closely with the vendors of the terminals to rectify the problem by monitoring the terminals involved.
“The team is still investigating the root cause. In the meantime, we have implemented a workaround for the affected terminals to minimise the inconvenience.”
