517 Sarawakian police officers to return for election
Jalaluddin Abdul Rahman of Bukit Aman says a 95 per cent turnout is expected.
“46 officers are expected to arrive here today while the rest will be brought back in stages until Friday,” the Integrity and Standard Compliance Department Director said.
“They will be voting as normal voters at their respective districts. 63 centres have been opened all over the state for them to vote at,” Jalaluddin told the media at the IPK Sarawak, here today.
He added that a 95 per cent turnout was expected.
Meanwhile, early voting for the 11th Sarawak state election began at 8am today with 24,604 early voters comprising of security personnel along with their partners being able to vote at 79 polling centres statewide.
33 centres will be closed by 2pm while the other 46 will be closed at 5pm, based on the number of voters at the constituencies.
