Adenan tells voters it’s time to dump the DAP
Sarawak CM says the DAP has done nothing for the Pujut and Piasau constituencies in the last five years.
MIRI: Chief Minister Adenan Satem said since the DAP had done nothing for Pujut and Piasau over the last five years, it is time for voters to dump it.
The Borneo Post reported that Adenan told a gathering organised by the Malaysian Welfare and Dakwah Islamiah Society (Pekida) Miri on Sunday that Pujut and Piasau used to be BN strongholds. However, the DAP managed to win them in the 2011 state polls.
“We (BN) want to win Pujut and Piasau as well as get a bigger majority for Senadin in this state election,” he told the 4,000 guests.
Adenan said the BN could win Pujut if there was strong Bumiputera support.
“Pujut is winnable for BN if the Malays in this constituency stay united and rally behind direct BN candidate Hii King Chiong. Although Chinese votes in this constituency will be split into two, we can win with Malay support. That is why the Malays must stay united,” the report quoted him as saying.
