PETALING JAYA: While many people fear triads, a father is believed to have actually turned to triad members to help “teach” his drug addict son, who is also a gambler, a lesson.

This was depicted in two videos which have gone viral on Facebook and messaging app, WeChat.

In the 2-minute and 12-second video, uploaded on YouTube by China Press , a youth can be seen sitting on a chair with both his legs tied to a concrete bench, before a man wearing a white shirt is seen questioning the youth in Hokkien and caning his feet.

The man is then seen passing his mobile phone to the youth.

“Dad… enough, enough already. I know, I know, I have changed.

“Please help me, I’m sorry, I really know I’m wrong, I have changed,” the youth pleaded in Hokkien.

The man then continues to cane the youth, while asking him if he knew who was it that worked so hard to pay off the debts he had incurred.

The youth can then be seen begging and apologising numerous times, and stressing that he has realised the error of his ways and that he has changed.

However, it is unknown when the video was recorded. China Press also does not indicate as to how it concluded that the man who caned the youth was a triad member.
