RM792m allocated for 409 projects during S’wak election
They include building of bridges, roads and schools.
PETALING JAYA: A total of RM792.34 million was allocated for 409 projects in Sarawak during the recent state election.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Azalina Othman Said said these projects were intended to further develop the state, Star Online reported.
Azalina was answering a question from Permatang Pauh MP Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail who asked for details on the projects announced by federal ministers during the Sarawak state election campaign.
Azalina said the projects included building of bridges, upgrading of roads, rural water supply, building of schools as well as social programmes for education and the local community.
Azalina said the respective ministries would be overseeing the projects.

In the 11th Sarawak election, BN won 72 of the 82 state seats. DAP took seven seats, losing five seats it won in 2011, while PKR retained its three seats.
