Wan Azizah wants speculation over WhatsApp leak stopped
PKR president says she has full confidence in the Selangor Government under the leadership of its MB Azmin Ali.
PETALING JAYA: PKR president Wan Azizah Wan Ismail wants all speculation regarding allegations of corruption in the Selangor Government to cease as the party has taken measures to address the issue.
She said that the party’s Secretary-General Rafizi Ramli had explained that the allegation did not refer to any particular representative of the people or civil servant and that he would lodge a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) regarding the matter.
“Rafizi has said he will do so (report to MACC) next Monday. The MACC are advised to carry out their duties and responsibilities professionally and without any political meddling.
“At the same time, other PKR leaders and myself have full faith in the Selangor Government administration under Azmin Ali, the Menteri Besar of Selangor,” she said in a statement today.
In the leaked message that was sent to the “Solidarity for Anwar” WhatsApp group, Rafizi had touched on the alleged demands for cash and women when dealing with the Selangor Government.
He also warned that he would expose those involved in the corrupt practice unless it was stopped immediately.
Rafizi last Friday admitted the WhatsApp message that was leaked originated from him but denied it involved any elected representative or state official and said it was “specific” and not “general.”
Meanwhile Azmin denied the allegations, saying that the state would take action against any corrupt practice if such existed.

Wan Azizah also said that the MB would take action against any culprit if hard evidence about the alleged corruption was presented to them.
