AMA (Ask Me Anything) session with Alvin Tan
Mobile app SPOT News will be holding an online interview from 8am till 8pm tomorrow (Wednesday) with controversial Malaysian blogger Alvin Tan.
PETALING JAYA: “Now you can hear it from the horse’s mouth,” mobile app SPOT News has said of its online AMA (Ask Me Anything) feature with controversial Malaysian blogger Alvin Tan.
“We want to provide an open platform for the public to air their questions and frustrations with Alvin Tan himself, giving him an opportunity to interact with these questions,” SPOT News Community Manager Caroline Ng told FMT today.
SPOT News today announced its intentions to “break the Internet” tomorrow (July 27) by enabling the public to engage with Alvin Tan via their recently launched discussion feature AMA (Ask Me Anything).
“SPOT News users can get personal responses from Alvin on his Alvivi scandal and his career in porn,” SPOT News had said in a statement earlier today.
“We believe that this session will not only serve as a ‘Get To Know Alvin Tan’ session but will also allow for different perspectives of his past controversies in the media as users will get a glimpse of what it’s like being in his shoes,” Ng said.
Ng explained that SPOT News had randomly reached out to Tan on his Facebook page and he had responded.
“The arrangement was that he appears from 8am till 8pm to answer questions on July 27, 2016.
“However, he has started answering questions already before the pre-agreed date.
“No commercial arrangement was made as we view it as an interview,” Ng told FMT.
