Ibrahim laughs at Umno in heat about elections
Like a man yet to recover from a ‘performance’ problem, yet to get the first wife’s approval, but already thinking about taking a second wife. This boost of desire is not normal.
KUALA LUMPUR: Ibrahim Ali, head of the Malay rights Perkasa group, says Kelantan Umno is being “funny and naughty” in making a call for PAS to dissolve the state assembly and hold elections.
He said in a statement today that it was akin to Kelantan Umno suddenly feeling ‘boosted’ after intense speculation about Penang calling for unscheduled elections.
“This is a boost borne out of a desire that is not in line with their actual capability,” he said.
“It is like a man who has yet to recover from a ‘performance’ problem, yet to get the approval of his first wife, but already thinking about taking a second wife. This boost of desire is not normal.”
Ibrahim or Tok Him as he is more commonly known as, said the state of the nation’s politics at the moment was chaotic.
Kelantan Umno should not think that victory in two recent by-elections signified nationwide support for Barisan Nasional.
“When BN was strong and managed to win all over the country, PAS still won Kelantan. Forget the past, what more with current issues like the GST (Goods and Services Tax), 1MDB (1Malaysia Development Berhad) and others,” he said.
Ibrahim, a former MP for Pasir Mas, noted that Kelantan’s political landscape was different from other states.
“Hundreds of thousands of Kelantanese are in the Klang Valley, that is why they are affected by national issues. Every time Kelantan Umno loses when these people come home to vote, it is because folks in Kelantan do not care whether there is development (here) or not,” he explained.
He added that Kelantan Umno still has a long way to go to defeat PAS, especially since the presence of the Islamist party’s splinter, Amanah, had failed to produce any effect.
“Is the BN machinery ready for a fight, or do they only want to fight based on desire without energy?” he asked.
Yesterday, Kelantan Umno deputy liaison chief Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub advised the PAS government in the state to dissolve the state assembly, as reported by Sinar Harian.
He said the internal conflict between PAS leaders was becoming obvious that it was affecting the rakyat’s confidence.
