AirAsia, AirAsia X flights retimed due to airspace closure
Airline announces klia2 departure rescheduling for four days starting Monday to accommodate aerial survey by authorities.
PETALING JAYA: Several AirAsia and AirAsia X flights departing Kuala Lumpur from Sept 26-29 will be retimed due to a planned closure of airspace for an aerial survey by the authorities.
In a statement issued today, AirAsia said that all flights departing Kuala Lumpur via klia2 between 11am and 11.59am and from 2pm to 2.59pm on the dates stated will be retimed for earlier or later departures to accommodate the planned closure of airspace.
“AirAsia and AirAsia X have notified all affected guests via email and SMS, and would like to encourage all guests travelling during the mentioned dates and times to check their registered emails and mobile numbers for retime notifications,” the statement read.
Guests are also advised to visit www.airaisa.com and check their flight departure before travelling to the airport.
“All guests are also encouraged to perform self check-in via web and mobile and have their boarding passes printed before arriving at klia2.”
Yesterday, Malaysia Airlines issued a similar statement, saying that the closure of airspace would affect flights arriving and departing Kuala Lumpur between 11am and 11.59am and from 2pm to 2.59pm on Sept 26-29, 2016.
