Salleh Keruak’s mother dies at 85
Toh Puan Bandong Hasbollah was surrounded by her family when she died due to old age at the Kota Kinabalu KPJ Hospital.
According to Toh Puan Bandong’s grandson, Syarulnizam Salleh, Toh Puan Bandong, 85, was surrounded by all of her children and grandchildren when she died at 6.55am at the Kota Kinabalu KPJ Hospital here.
Among Toh Puan Bandong’s children who were beside her when she died were Salleh, Saidatul Badru, Sandralilah, Saidatul Badariah and Zainoriah.
Salleh, who was attending the Umno General Assembly 2016 in the capital, rushed back to Kota Kinabalu yesterday after the opening of the gathering to be with his mother.
The remains of Toh Puan Bandong will be brought to Sri Saza, Salleh’s residence in Likas before being taken to Kota Belud for burial at the Kg Siasai/Tombol Muslim cemetery this morning.
Meanwhile Prime Minister Najib Razak conveyed his condolences to Salleh over the death of his mother.
“Condolences @sallehsaid on the passing of your beloved mother, Toh Puan Hajah Bandung Hasbollah. May her soul be blessed. Al-Fatihah,” he said in a post on his Twitter account.
Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi also conveyed his condolences in a post on his Twitter account, saying: “Condolences from me and my family to DS @sallehsaid over the passing of your beloved mother, Toh Puan Hajjah Bandung Hasbollah. AL FATIHAH.”
Defence Minister Hishammuddin Hussein and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Azalina Othman also conveyed their condolences over Twitter.
Delegates attending the Umno General Assembly also expressed their condolences during the debate on the Umno president’s policy speech.
