Open-all-night club robs neighbours of sleep
Irate residents want authorities to order the club to move or shut down.
Resident Tan Lay Yiat told FMT the club, which opened its doors last week, was a nuisance to the more than 200 families staying there.
“The club is located 15m from Block A and the noise pollution is terrible. Senior citizens and children are unable to sleep as the club is playing ear-splitting music up to 8am.”
Tan also questioned whether the club was licensed to do business in the three-storey shoplots.
“This is not the proper place for a club, considering its proximity to the condo.
“I have twice approached the management of the club about the noise and asked them to lower the volume but they have yet to do so.”
Tan claimed the residents had also lodged reports at the Salak Selatan Baru police station to no avail.
“We were shocked when the the police informed us that they could not do much about it, even after we told them that the club was open till morning.
“They told us to raise the issue with Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL). I sent a letter today to DBKL about the matter.”
Tan hopes DBKL will look into their grouses and order the club to close or relocate.
DBKL licensing and petty traders management department director Ibrahim Yusof said he would be sending a team to investigate the residents’ claims.

“We will have to check if the club has an operating licence. If it doesn’t, we will shut it down.”
