Father says car suddenly locked from inside when he got out to lock the gates of his house.

NILAI: A sick two-year-old boy was trapped for almost 30 minutes in his father’s car here when the vehicle was suddenly locked from inside.

The boy’s father was taking the boy to a clinic and had placed his son on the front seat of the car before getting out to lock the gate.

The father told firemen the car suddenly locked, without the air-conditioning switched on.

Firemen were summoned to rescue the boy.

Nilai Fire and Rescue Station operations officer Mohd Fauzi Shamir said the station received a distress call at 11.39am and arrived at the scene 26 minutes later.

“We had to break the glass window of the car to get to the boy who was weak due to lack of oxygen. The process took 10 minutes.”
