I decided not to use the egg and kept it carefully in a refrigerator, says traditional cake maker Nor Saidatul
KUANTAN: A traditional cake maker never imagined that an egg bought at a wholesale market here would have the sacred word “Allah” inscribed on it.
Nor Saidatul Nadia Mohamad, 29, said she realised it while breaking eggs with a co-worker to prepare cakes for a boarding school here recently.
“At first I was a little surprised because the surface (of the egg) was not smooth. When I looked closer, I saw lines on the shell and found that it was indeed the word “Allah”.
“I decided not to use the egg and kept it carefully in a refrigerator,” she said when met by reporters at her house in Taman Sungai Isap Jaya, here today.
Nor Saidatul Nadia said she did not tell anyone about the discovery at first, but later decided to inform her family members.
“My father then told other people about it. I was told that some people were interested in buying the egg for RM100,” she said, adding that she was not interested in selling the prized possession.
