I’m foolish if I don’t use AP to buy ‘quality’ cars
The PKR Wanita chief says as an elected representative, she is entitled to perks to buy ‘quality’ cars.
PETALING JAYA: PKR Wanita chief Zuraida Kamaruddin defended her ownership of luxury cars, saying she had a penchant for “quality” cars even before becoming the Ampang MP.
She told Malay daily Sinar Harian that she was also entitled to use Approved Permits (AP) given to MPs.
“It’s foolish if I don’t use it,” she said.
She was responding to allegations of having “extraordinary wealth”, including her collection of expensive cars.
“Even before I joined politics, I was driving a good car. In my life, I give importance to buying long-lasting products.”
Zuraida has been linked to PKR Ampang Youth chief Adam Rosly, who now faces charges of falsifying documents during an investigation into his wealth by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
The two-term MP has however denied Adam had worked under her.
She challenged those accusing her of corruption to lodge a report with the authorities.
