Wisma Putra: No Malaysians involved in Resorts World Manila attack

The foreign affairs ministry says the Malaysian embassy in Manila is closely monitoring the incident together with local authorities.

Resorts-World-Manila-attackPUTRAJAYA: No Malaysians were involved in this morning’s incident at Resorts World Manila, when a lone gunman fired several shots causing the loss of lives, injuries and damage to property.

In a statement here today, the foreign affairs ministry said the Malaysian embassy in Manila was closely monitoring the incident together with local authorities.

It also advised Malaysians there to exercise vigilance and follow instructions issued by the Philippine authorities.

The ministry said Malaysians requiring consular assistance should contact the Malaysian embassy at 00 (632) 662 8200 / 00 (63) 917 864 0761 (after working hours) or email [email protected]

Early today, 36 people were reportedly killed in a Manila casino following an attack by the gunman who fired shots from an assault rifle and set fire to gaming tables.
