Sports Toto introduces new Star Toto 6/50

 | October 17, 2017

New lotto game will replace Grand Toto 6/63, which paid out highest ever jackpot winnings in Malaysia last month.

star-totoPETALING JAYA: Sports Toto has decided to make a change to its popular lotto games by replacing the Grand Toto 6/63 game with a new Star Toto 6/50.

The new game will be introduced from this Saturday, with the last Grand Toto 6/63 draw taking place tomorrow.

According to a statement from the numbers lottery operator, the new game will have two separate prizes, Jackpot 1 and Jackpot 2, and will kick off with a prize pool of RM1,188,888 and RM100,000, respectively. The price of a ticket is RM1, unlike the RM2 for the 6/63 draw.

The Jackpot 2 allows for punters to win a minimum jackpot of RM100,000 if their sixth number matches an additional “bonus number” that is drawn.

Aside from the Star Toto 6/50, Sports Toto operates two other lotto games, namely Power Toto 6/55 and Supreme Toto 6/58. Punters for all the lotto games have to pick a set of six numbers from 1 to 50, 55, or 58, respectively depending on the type of game.

Like in the other games, punters in the Star Toto 6/50 also stand to win third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh prizes of RM2,008, RM788, RM28, RM18 and RM8, respectively.

The other betting types of System Play and EZ-Bet are also available for the 6/50 game, allowing for punters to possibly win both Jackpot 1 and 2 in the same draw.

Meanwhile, Sports Toto said that should no one win the prize money from the last Grand 6/63 draw tomorrow, the total amount will be added to the Star Toto 6/50 Jackpot 1, Power Toto 6/55 and Supreme Toto 6/58 lotto games in proportion to the games’ odds of winning.

The last winner of the Grand 6/63 came from Penang last month. On Sept 13, a 40-year-old businessman won RM69.6 million, the largest jackpot ever paid out in Malaysia when one of the 25 tickets he purchased via lucky pick made him an instant multi-millionaire.
