PETALING JAYA: Action has been taken against 153 Uber and Grab drivers for cheating their customers since October 2016, NST Online reported.

The offences ranged from charging customers higher-than-normal prices to purposely driving beyond the customers’ destinations to charge them a higher fare.

The Land and Public Transport Commission (SPAD) enforcement division head Che Hasni Che Ahmad said this kind of action had tarnished the image of all Uber and Grab drivers.

He spoke to reporters after witnessing a two-day operation aimed at bus drivers, called “Ops Serkap”, at the Lembah Sireh Bus Terminal in Kota Bharu on Saturday night.

He urged drivers providing e-hailing services to create confidence among users and not to cheat customers.

Che Hasni warned dishonest drivers that action will be taken against them.
