RapidKL discounted cards being abused
A special operation finds these cards, meant for students, elderly and disabled, being misused by others.
These MyRapid cards are provided for the disabled, students and senior citizens, who enjoy a discount of 50%.
Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd CEO Zohari Sulaiman said a major operation conducted recently had shown substantial manipulation and misuse of such cards.
He said those found abusing these cards will be blacklisted and their cards confiscated.
“We found cards given to students being used by family members.”
There were also cases of senior citizens passing their cards to their family members, he added.
“On the first and second days, we seized 81 cards — 48 meant for students, 31 for senior citizens and two for the disabled,” he added.
Zohari said the RapidKL enforcement teams would intensify their operations.
