TMJ: Najib supports my vision to improve national football
He says PM was also excited about the changes he would bring should he be elected to helm the national football governing body.
KUALA LUMPUR: Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) candidate for president Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim said the vision and mission he has for Malaysian football are well-supported by Prime Minister Najib Razak.
The Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) club owner said Najib was also excited about the direction and changes he would bring should he be elected to helm the national football governing body.
“The prime minister seems to understand my agenda and he has the desire to see the changes in the teams and leagues in Malaysia.
“Honestly, he appeared supportive of my mission and vision,” he said at the meeting between him and local football supporters here today.
The Johor crown prince described the meeting he had with his supporters as a good one and such gatherings would be expanded to other FAM alliance members should he get elected for the post.
Tunku Ismail said the meeting had indirectly paved the way for those who wanted to voice out their opinions and express their dissatisfaction.
“It was a good session. I had the opportunity to share my vision and mission with all football supporters in the country who are desperate to see a change.

“They also get to voice out their feelings through such programmes. The supporters too have rights and I want everybody to get involved in my efforts to revive the football scene in the country,” he said.
