Marquez sets the pace in San Marino

Marquez second in the world championship standings behind Andrea Dovizioso clocked a fastest lap of 1min 32.958sec with fellow Spaniard Maverick Vinales second at 0.154 on a Yamaha.

MarquezMISANO ADRIATICO: World champion Marc Marquez set the fastest combined time in the first three free MotoGP practice sessions on Saturday for the San Marino Grand Prix.

Marquez second in the world championship standings behind Andrea Dovizioso clocked a fastest lap of 1min 32.958sec with fellow Spaniard Maverick Vinales second at 0.154 on a Yamaha.

Italian Danilo Petrucci was third fastest at 0.273 for Ducati with Dovizioso clocking the fifth fastest time on a Ducati with qualifying for Sunday’s race taking place later on Saturday.

Italian Dovizioso overtook defending champion Marquez at the top of the riders’ standings last time out with victory at the British MotoGP in Silverstone.
