KUALA LUMPUR: Maxis Bhd is collaborating with Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) to provide high-speed Internet services for two of the university campuses namely in Sungai Long and Kampar.
In a statement today, Maxis said through the collaboration, each campus would be equipped with 1Gbps fibre Internet access with an inter-campus link, as well as Maxis’ latest Internet Protocol Metro Area Network (IPMAN).
“That will enable the campuses to scale up their bandwidth seamlessly to a much higher speed when they become available in the future,” it said, adding that the campuses would also enjoy high-speed mobile connectivity built around the fastest 4G LTE network in the country.
Maxis chief enterprise business officer Paul McManus said the company was pleased to work with UTAR to provide its students with converged offerings of Maxis own build high-speed fibre, as well as its “Always On” mobile connectivity.
“The Internet has become so critical in our lives, and for students especially, they are central to academic, administration and lifestyle activities, and these are essential capabilities in managing high data usage commonly seen today,” he said.
