Malaysian fashion firm to seek Nasdaq listing

E’S Closet says a Nasdaq listing would be a landmark event for the Malaysian fashion scene.

KUALA LUMPUR: A local fashion company plans to be listed on the Nasdaq stock exchange within 18 months.

E’S Closet International Berhad’s chief marketing officer Zyro Wong said: “We want to be listed on the Nasdaq within 18 months from now. The reason to list in the United States instead of listing here in Bursa Malaysia or Hong Kong is because we want our fashion brand to be international.”

Nasdaq is a global electronic marketplace for buying and selling securities located in New York. It is the second-largest stock exchange in the world by market capitalisation.

Speaking to reporters after the proposed listing announcement, Zyro said it would be a landmark event for the Malaysian fashion scene.

The company’s adviser Kennay Tang said it was not easy to be listed on the Nasdaq “but we are convinced that E’S Closet will make its mark on the main board at US$4.00 at the very least”.

E’S Closet also announced a collaboration with Sharelaa which carries two international brands – Champion&Melissa and TNTCO – as part of its expansion plan.
