PETALING JAYA: A landmark supermarket in Petaling Jaya is closing down, as it ceases operations in other parts of the Klang Valley.
Cold Storage, a premium-brand supermarket owned by Giant hypermarket owners GCH Retail (M) Sdn Bhd, will be shutting down its branch in Section 14 where it has been operating for decades.
Cold Storage currently has seven stores nationwide, and it is understood that several other outlets in the Klang Valley have been replaced.
The Edge reported that the outlet in Section 14 has started a closing-down sale on Saturday, but “shelves were already practically empty by 5pm on the same day”.
This year alone, GCH has closed 13 stores comprising Giant and Cold Storage outlets.
