PARIS: The Italian fashion house has teamed up with luxury inflatables brand Funboy on “The Butterfly Float,” a vivid, winged creation that is sure to up the poolside glamour factor this season. The float, which retails for $148, is reversible, featuring Missoni artwork on both sides in two different blue and orange-themed colorways, playing into the house’s signature colorful, patterned aesthetic.
“[We have] always been transfixed by Missoni’s use of color and geometric shapes and we knew it would translate into an incredible three-dimensional pool float,” Funboy cofounder Blake Barrett told WWD. “We reached out over DM to Angela [Missoni] hoping she would share our vision.”
Missoni is not the only big fashion name putting its own stylish spin on summer accessories. Luxury shoe brand Charlotte Olympia has teamed up with flip-flop label Havaianas on a limited-edition series of feline-themed poolside footwear, while pop culture icon Hello Kitty recently joined forces with surf and lifestyle brand O’Neill on a summer swimwear and apparel range for girls.
