Klang is known for its superior Bak Kut Teh eateries, Hong Ba offerings, and maybe to a lesser extent, Klang-style red wine Mee Suah.
However, being a huge district that is home to over a million people, there are certainly some outliers when it comes to food offerings considered “favourites” among the locals.
Here’s where Roti Canai Pandamaran, also known as Restoran IV makes its grand mark of excellence.
As the name suggests, this is a place best known for its Roti Canai. The restaurant is located rather deep within Pandamaran, and is certainly quite a distance away from KL itself.
However, for those who love this flat bread, this place is definitely worth a visit. The place is packed even during off-peak hours i.e. brunch time on a weekend.
Along the left wall are three Roti Canai-making stations with five cooks manning the hot plates, concentrating on nothing other than preparing and cooking Roti Canai at top speed. It’s quite an impressive set-up, to be honest.
Their Roti Telur with and without onions, plain Roti Canai, and Roti Planta are all really top notch, with just the right crispiness and outstanding flavour.
It comes served with a rather good curry as well, though there are better dhal and sambal option elsewhere. That being said, it is still one of the best Roti Canai eateries in all of Klang.
Restoran IV also offers some non-Roti Canai offerings such as the more standard Mee Goreng, Meehun Goreng and Nasi Lemak. While these were decent enough, they weren’t anything to really shout about, making Roti Canai hands down their main crowd-puller.
