The New York-based clothing brand, which is the brainchild of ex-MAC makeup artists Phillipe and David Blond, is teaming up with the beauty titan on a new ‘Bombshell Essentials’ gender neutral makeup line, WWD reports.
The collection, which will launch on September 6 during New York Fashion Week, reportedly spans two lipsticks, two lip glosses, an eyeliner, a powder, a brush and a set of studded false eyelashes. The products draw inspiration from the signature sparkly, glamorous aesthetic behind The Blonds, and will be incorporated into the label’s upcoming catwalk presentation.
“It’s all about sparkle, it’s all about making the skin glisten, it’s about it being for everyone, it’s genderless,” co-founder David Blond told WWD. “We wanted it to be something that would be easily incorporated into everyone’s collection of makeup.
Since being founded in 2007, The Blonds has built up a reputation for high-voltage, glamorous fashion that has been championed by celebrities including Nicki Minaj, Beyonce, Rihanna and Cardi B.
MAC has been doubling down on its fashion collaborations recently, having teamed up with the global sportswear brand Puma a trio of suede sneakers inspired by three of its signature lipsticks earlier this year. The company also released a playful panda-themed beauty collection with fashion designer Nicola Formichetti, former artistic director of Diesel and the co-founder of the luxury streetwear label Nicopanda, back in April, in addition to a music-themed makeup series that it created with designer Jeremy Scott in February.
