The nameless chicken rice stall that is the focus of this article, is located pretty much right behind HSBC along Jalan Selvadurai, off Jalan Ipoh, and just opposite the Aeon Big entrance. It is also right beside a river.
The stall is more like a makeshift shelter than a proper shop, though there are fans, lights, and plenty of tables for hungry customers.
This stall has the usual options that all other chicken rice stalls have i.e. roast chicken with a side of pork balls, roast pork, char siu, and steamed chicken.
The roast chicken was truly juicy and succulent, and those pork balls (wished more was ordered) really hit the sweet spot.
The rice too was fragrant and best of all, the chilli was one of the best – spicy and aromatic, really bringing out the flavours of the chicken and pork balls.
Definitely a low-key stall that should be more in the public eye because of the superior flavours of this everyday Malaysian favourite.
