Various shades of pink and orange-themed art installations will be popping up at Marriott International’s newest hotel brand next year, as part of a unique collaboration with Pantone, the global colour authority which just declared “Living Coral” the colour of 2019.
Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio, the group’s newest collection of independent and “characterful” hotels, is hosting a series of pop-ups that aim to link “the power of colour” and the “pursuit of travel.”
Under the theme “Pantone Pantry,” each pop-up exhibit will be travel-inspired and highlight the “life-affirming” coral hue, chosen this year as the sociable and spirited antidote to the digital, connected lifestyle.
The series makes its debut during Art Basel at the Royal Palm South Beach Miami Resort this week, before traveling to The Alida in Savannah, Georgia, and The Slaak Rotterdam in 2019.
The inaugural pop-up reimagines the traditional hotel experience with a cabinet of curiosities and hidden hotel guest room and features custom animations, digital projections and a playlist featuring LSD, with Sia, Diplo and Labrinth.
