For true fans of Curry Mee, the Penang version with pork blood, prawns, a santan broth, and sambal that is slightly charred cannot be rivalled – under any circumstances.
But if you are a true foodie, you should be open to trying anything that is delicious – in this particular case, non-Penang Curry Mee.
If you’re up to it, try the version served at Sun Fatt Kee kopitiam in Seapark, Petaling Jaya.
The Curry Mee stall at this kopitiam has been serving up (according to many) the best Curry Mee ever, this side of the Klang Valley.
A bowl comes with your choice of noodles, perfectly shredded chicken, tofu pok, long beans, bean sprouts, sambal, lime, and possibly the best cockles ever.
Yes, a bowl of this precious Curry Mee does cost RM7, and yes, the portion isn’t big at all, but the flavour and superiority of this dish is worth many repeat visits.
And next time, make sure to order extra cockles.
