While Penang and Ipoh hawker food are established staples in the Klang Valley, Sarawak’s culinary offerings have just recently entered many street food lovers’ radars.
When it comes to Sarawakian eats, none are more popular than a good old fashioned bowl of Sarawak Laksa.
One of the latest places to offer a yummy bowl is the newly revived NZX at Ara Damansara. NZX, or Niuzexui, was once the hippest commercial area in Petaling Jaya when it first opened several years ago.
The biggest issue about NZX was the access roads. Patrons had to go through a dodgy and often congested tunnel under the NKVE to get there via Taman Emas in PJ.
The access has since been sorted out and there’s the new Lembah Subang LRT station just a stone’s throw away, so NZX is experiencing a bit of a revival of late.
After hearing Sarawakians give their approval to the offerings from this stall, it went on the “must try” list. True enough, the laksa here was properly done.
The soup was on point, and the other ingredients were rather generous in portions, including the prawns. It was quite a treat.
