KUALA LUMPUR: Love it or hate it, there’s no denying that films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) have left a lasting legacy in modern popular culture.

Starting off with the release of Iron Man back in the distant 2008, the MCU has since become a multimillion-dollar franchise with its films being consistent box office hits and even blockbusters, not only in the US, but globally.

Like the rest of the world, Malaysians too have been enthralled, as is proven by the fact that five out of the top 10 highest grossing international films here have been MCU films.

And who can forget just how packed theatres were earlier this year when the long-awaited Avengers: Endgame finally hit the silver screen, leaving devoted fans in tears of both joy and grief?

As Spiderman: Far From Home concludes the Fourth Phase of the MCU, it is fitting that Pavilion KL will be playing host to the first Marvel Studios exhibition in Malaysia this year.

From June 28 to Oct 27, the Marvel Studios: Ten Years of Heroes exhibition will be throwing open its doors to eager MCU fans and curious members of the public.

As befitting an event this prestigious, the exhibition was launched by the Malaysian Prime Minister, Dr Mahathir Mohamad who, at the press of a button, revealed the Nano Gauntlet to a crowd of enthusiastic onlookers.

The exhibition is most certainly an event not to be missed by shutterbugs and avid Instagrammers.

With many props and concept art from the films and statues of the beloved MCU up on display, there will never be a moment to put away the camera.

Given that the MCU kicked off with Iron Man, the first gallery is dedicated to the armours donned by Tony Stark and the arc reactor, used as a prop on the set of Avengers: Endgame, is on display.

The next gallery is dedicated to Iron Man’s ally and erstwhile rival, Captain America. Here, a collection of shields wielded by Captain America in the films are on display.

Visitors can choose to pose for photographs with his iconic round shield or the Wakandan variant seen in Avengers: Infinity War.

The following galleries are dedicated to the other heroes of the MCU, including Thor, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Doctor Strange and Captain Marvel.

In each of the galleries, visitors will be able to gaze upon actual props from the movie sets and some replicas.

For the easily bored, fret not, for throughout almost the entirety of the exhibition, there are interactive displays that will capture one’s imagination.

Dance with Baby Groot, choose Captain Marvel’s uniform colours, reverse time with the Eye of Agamotto and for those brave enough, experience the Snap for a photograph to send to friends and family.

Curious visitors use the interactive displays available while Thanos, the Mad Titan, watches on.

At the end of the exhibition, there will be products and memorabilia available at the gift shop, as well as a little memorial dedicated to the late Stan Lee.

This exhibition is a rare opportunity for Marvel fans to celebrate just how far their beloved franchise has come and appreciate the hard work by those who worked tirelessly to make it the success story that it is.

Tickets can be purchased at or at ticketing counters outside the exhibition which will open from 10am to 10pm daily.

There is an Early Bird discount of 10% on all tickets bought between June 21 and July 7.
