Setia City Mall is arguably one of the most happening shopping centres in the Klang Valley. For most people, shopping mall food isn’t usually on their lists of preferred lunch/dinner options, but sometimes there are gems among the thorns.
Tuk Tuk and Little Nyonya are among the favourite dining options in Setia City Mall. Little Nyonya on the lower ground is almost always crowded.
The decor is simple and optimised to pack as many customers as possible, so comfort may not exactly be top of their list of services.
Think of it as a place for a quick eat instead of leisure dining with great ambience and there will be no disappointment.
Little Nyonya offers quite a comprehensive menu with individual dishes such as nasi lemak, rendang beef with rice, Nyonya curry chicken rice and Ala carte dishes to share.
Apart from the asam pedas fish which had good seasoning but lacked quality fish (dory was likely used), the other three dishes are on point.
The Asam prawns had a good balance of asam & cooking caramel, two style kailan was also good, and the rendang chicken turned out to be a favourite, with really good marinate that penetrated the poultry without being overpowering.
Pie tee is a must-have at any Nyonya restaurant, and this version is acceptable.
For desserts, the cendol may perhaps be a little too watery for the liking of some, but it does have a good gula Melaka presence.
Be happy with the bubur cha cha and the rather rarely seen pengat pulut. Pengat pisang, pengat ubi keladi, bee koh moy, and ais kacang are some desserts that are on offer too.
