KUALA LUMPUR: If you want to make your November a month to remember, secure a reservation at the Kampachi restaurant in EQ Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
Kampachi and EQ are joining hands to introduce Malaysians to the culinary delights of Chef Masaaki Miyakawa and his team from the famous Sushi Shin of Japan.
Awarded three Michelin stars in 2017 for his eponymous Sapporo restaurant called Sushi Miyakawa, he opened Sushi Shin shortly after.
The restaurant showcases seasonal ingredients of quality that highlight the innate flavours and umami in specially-crafted Edomae-style sushi.
Besides impeccable craftsmanship, Sushi Shin’s chefs are trained by Miyakawa to select and transform ingredients into delicious creations.
The same omakase menu offered at his restaurants in Japan will be available during this exclusive pop-up dining experience from Nov 1 to 10.
Menus are priced at RM500+ and RM1,000+ per person for lunch and dinner respectively.
The lunch menu, consisting of a 14-course omakase will be available from 12pm to 2.30pm, except on Nov 4 and 5.
The 18-course dinner menu is available from 6pm to 8pm and 8.30pm to 10.30pm, except on Nov 4.

An exclusive dinner, available from 6pm to 10.30pm on Nov 1, 2, 6, 7 and 9, comes with a sake pairing at RM2,400+ per person.
A complimentary bottle of Taketsuru whisky will be gifted to those making reservations of eight persons and above.
A range of specially selected sakes will also be offered as a pairing option to complement the sushi served.
The omakase menu is limited to just eight seats at the Kampachi’s 200-year-old Hinoki wood sushi counter during lunch and dinner.
An additional 12 persons can be accommodated in the private dining area adjacent to the sushi counter without compromising the exclusivity of the overall dining experience.
“The innovative menu allows guests to experience unique, seasonal sushi and tsumami dishes (appetisers) packed with umami, their delicate flavours extracted precisely from each ingredient,” says Chef Miyakawa.
Seats will be limited as demand is expected to be high with bookings already made by sushi lovers.
