FMT in partnership with The Global Institute For Tomorrow (GIFT) brings you Covid-19 “healer” from Indonesia.

For over four months, people in Bandung have stayed at home with limited ability to engage in outside activity.

Even as people protect themselves from the coronavirus, they are still at risk from mosquitoes carrying dengue fever.

Ujang and Asep, two local village officers, are fumigating a densely-populated area in Girimekar Permai Village in West Java to kill dengue mosquitoes.

They struggle to fumigate homes in a manner that protects them from both mosquitoes and the coronavirus.

They work in other villages to both control the spread of several diseases, using sanitising chemicals placed into their fog gun.

Their work is classified as “gotong-royong” (working together with voluntarism spirit), as social work done for little pay.
