PETALING JAYA: This weekend, parenting portal and FMT Lifestyle contributor makchic, in collaboration with the Australian International School Malaysia (AISM), are bringing back the Play On! Children’s Festival – a day of exciting events, special performances, and delicious food for mums, dads, and kids.
Following its highly successful debut last year, the festival returns to foster creativity and nurture young minds, while celebrating families and bringing them together in the welcoming environment of the AISM campus in Seri Kembangan, Selangor.
According to makchic general manager Najmin Tajudin, parents continue to seek out family-friendly spaces for young children that allow them to safely experience culture, sports, creative arts, and science.
As such, makchic has collaborated with AISM to curate an enriching day of play and learning for kids 12 years and younger, with safety measures and amenities such as baby-changing facilities, a nursing room and a calm room.
“Once again we are turning the campus into a carnival playground, with even more festival fun for the whole family in our extensive indoor and outdoor facilities,” AISM principal Simon Brooks added in a statement.
So, what can your little ones look forward to? Highlights include Anak Rimba books and activities at the Pelangi Kids’ Zone; storytelling, magic, art and tie-dye workshops; batik painting, as well as woodworking activities.
Children bursting with energy will have an absolute ball with gymnastics, capoeira martial arts, and even a family workout. For some messy and open-ended play, bumper balls, bubbles, and a bouncy castle await!
Families can also capture memories with complimentary digital photo portraits, and treat their taste buds to delicious kid-friendly cuisine from food trucks and specialty vendors while shopping for books, toys, and enrichment products.
And that’s not all: part of proceeds from this event will go towards AISM’s Matilda Project, which supports primary education for children in remote villages in Sabah.
You can also donate preloved toys at the Re:Play toy booth to benefit Orang Asli villages in PPR Lembah Subang 2 and the Royal Belum Rainforest.
So head on down to Sri Kembangan as a family this weekend for a fun and festive day out, while contributing towards a worthy cause!
