Agong conveys condolences on Lee Kuan Yew’s passing

king condolencesKUALA LUMPUR: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Hajah Haminah have conveyed their condolences on the passing of Singapore’s first prime minister, Lee Kuan Yew today.

In a statement, His Majesty expressed his condolences and sympathies to Singapore president, Tony Tan Keng Yam, prime minister, Lee Hsien Loong and all the people of Singapore.

Kuan Yew, 91, died today at 3.18 am at the Singapore General Hospital where he was admitted to the intensive care unit of the hospital on February 5 for severe pneumonia.

The state funeral will be held at 2pm, March 29 (Sunday) at the University Cultural Centre, the National University of Singapore.
