Rani Kulop: Meeting Umno doesn’t make me an Umno man

Serial police report lodger says he also accepted 'Datukship' from self proclaimed Malacca Sultan to gauge the latter's claim.

PETALING JAYA: Serial police report lodger Abdul Rani Kulop said that having a meeting with someone labelled as insane does not make him crazy as well.

“For instance, Ayah meeting Umno people doesn’t mean Ayah is an Umno person,” Rani told Malay Mail Online.

Ayah is a term the red-beret wearing Rani choses to use when referring to himself in the third person.

He said this in response to the allegation by Malacca Chief Minister Idris Haron that self-proclaimed Sultan of Malacca Noor Jan Tuah, who goes by Raja Noor Jan Shah Tuah, was insane.

Idris, according to the news portal, had described Noor Jan as “living in a world of his own” when asked to comment on the award conferred to Rani that purportedly carries the “Datuk Paduka” title.

Rani told the portal that he was also shown documents that “acknowledged” Noor Jan’s claim to the defunct throne, including documents supposedly endorsed by the International Court of Justice.

Idris previously rubbished the documents as fabricated and false.

Rani had earlier claimed that his acceptance of the ‘datukship’ was so he could gauge if Noor Jan’s claim was genuine.
