“As we have previously stated, 1MDB has not been contacted by any foreign legal authorities on any matters relating to the company.”
This was in response to a joint-statement earlier today by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and the city-state’s Commercial Affairs Department (CAD) that it had responded to several 1Malaysia Development Bhd-related queries.
The company further stated: “1MDB remains committed to fully cooperating with any lawful authority and investigation, subject to advice from the relevant domestic lawful authorities, and in accordance with international protocols governing such matters.”
1MDB has come under international scrutiny following accusations of graft and mismanagement, including the recent Swiss’ authorities’ investigations into the matter.
Last week, the Attorney-General, Apandi Ali cleared Najib of any criminal offence and instructed that the cases be closed.
