Serial arsonist caught in Seremban

PETALING JAYA: A serial arsonist terrorising shopping malls in Seremban has been caught.

NST Online reported that the 22-year-old man was caught red-handed while setting fire to a towel in a hypermarket at Palm Mall at around noon today.

His act caught the attention of security guards monitoring the mall’s closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras.

The suspect was later handed over to police and admitted to four other arson cases in Seremban earlier this month.

He told police he did it “for fun.”

The incidents happened on June 14 at the women’s clothing area of Mydin Hypermarket; a garment area in the Terminal 2 shopping centre; a bookstore at the Terminal 1 mall; and the men’s clothing section at the Giant Supermarket in Senawang.
