KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit opened easier against the US dollar this morning on a lack of market participation and amid the shorter trading days due to the Hari Raya Aidilfitri holiday.
At 9.02am, the ringgit was at 4.0020/0080 against the greenback from Monday’s close of 3.9940/9000.
Against other major currencies, the ringgit also traded slightly lower.

The local unit depreciated against the British pound to 5.3087/3174 from yesterday’s 5.2917/2004 and weakened vis-a-vis the euro to 4.4554/4637 from 4.4361/4444.
