Guan Eng dismisses clown caricature, says BN media worse

GEORGE TOWN: Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said a clown caricature of himself gone viral on Facebook was “nothing” compared with the numerous attacks by “BN-controlled” media.

Lim was responding to a Facebook post featuring a caricature of him a-la Fahmi Reza’s famous “Kita Semua Penghasut” clown caricature of Prime Minister Najib Razak.

Lim said he was aware of parties trying to demonise him and spread lies, but was unperturbed and vowed to fight on.

“They may run me down but it cannot be as bad as what Barisan Nasional (BN) is doing.

“The BN media are terrible…some of the things they are saying, running me down.

“You can run me down, anyone can run me down, but I will keep on fighting. But those who support us, and believe the truth, I thank you.

“Last time, the BN media tried to run me down, claiming my son had molested a girl. But it ended up to be not true. Can’t compare to this (caricature),” Lim said after visiting the Church of the Assumption in Farquhar Street here today.

On Tuesday’s Facebook post, the page owner claimed that Fahmi had drawn a spoof of Lim, similar to the one made on the prime minister.

Meanwhile, Fahmi denied doing any such drawing.

Speaking to FMT, he said: “It’s not my work.  I never did a caricature of him (Guan Eng). If it was mine I would have posted the artwork on my own Facebook page like i always do.”
