PETALING JAYA: A 11-year-old boy has died after falling off a motorcycle that he was riding in Kluang, Johor. Police are to haul up the victim’s father.
Muhammad Azrie Zamri, was reported to be heading towards Jalan Felda Kahang Barat in Kluang, Johor, when he fell off the bike at about 4.55 pm.
He later died of head and body injuries, according to the online New Straits Times.
Kluang district police chief Mohamad Laham said the case is being investigated under the Road Transport Act 1957 for causing death by reckless driving.
Azrie’s father would be hauled up for allowing him to ride the motorcycle without a licence, he was quoted as saying.
Two other underage motorists have also died in Hari Raya holiday accidents in Johor.
On the first day of Raya, 12-year-old Muhammad Wafie Samsuddin, was killed after a taxi hit his motorcycle at Km73 Jalan Johor Baru-Ayer Hitam.
Earlier the same day, Muhammad Nabil Fahmi Bakhtiar, 17, Basrie Bunawan, 19, and Mohamad Nor Fitri Mohamad Sabtu, 19, were killed when their car crashed into a tree at Km32 Jalan Yong Peng. The driver in that accident also did not have a driving licence.
