GEORGE TOWN: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission today arrested a senior officer of the Implementation and Coordination Unit of the Prime Minister’s Department in Penang over a case of misuse of authority, according to a source.
The source said the officer was held at his office at noon and taken to the Penang MACC office to have a statement recorded.
The man was arrested after an investigation over the misuse of authority involving a project to supply uniforms valued about RM25,000 in 2013 when he was serving in another government department, the source told Bernama.
It said the MACC had been onto the case since last year.
Meanwhile, Penang MACC Director M. Samarajoo, when contacted, confirmed the arrest.
