Teen escapes after two years of alleged abuse by sister

PETALING JAYA: For the past two years, a teenage boy allegedly endured abuse and torture at the hands of his own sister, and her husband.

The 14-year-old had several days ago, mustered enough courage to escape his predicament, when he ran away from his house in a plantation in Pasir Gudang, Johor, reported The Star today.

According to the report, the boy, who is the second youngest of 11 siblings, had been under of the care of his sister following the death of their father when he was still a child, and did not attend school. Some of the gruesome torture he allegedly endured prior to his escape was being kicked in the genitals.

Following his escape, the boy was found sleeping behind a surau nearby and was rescued by villagers.

The sister and her husband, aged 28 and 38 respectively, have been picked up by police and remanded to assist investigations.

According to the police, the boy is currently undergoing treatment at the Sultan Ismail Hospital in Johor Bahru, and has been placed under the care of the Welfare Department.
