PETALING JAYA: PAS Youth leaders have described as “wild” accusations that its top leaders took RM90 million from Prime Minister Najib Razak.
Federal Territories PAS Youth Chief Khairul Nizam Khirudin stressed that PAS had no political affiliation with Umno.
Star Online reported that PAS Youth leaders today lodged a police report over a Sarawak Report(SR) article alleging that the top party echelons received the money.
“We have no political ties with Umno, but merely work together for the benefit of the Muslims and the rest of the rakyat,” Khairul told reporters at Dang Wangi police headquarters here.
“We are a party of integrity. There’s no element of misappropriation or abuse of power over there (in the Kelantan state government).”
Deputy PAS Youth Chief Khalil Abdul Hadi, who was present, urged police to investigate the report and its source.
On Saturday, Sarawak Report published a comment piece claiming that Najib had wooed PAS away from the Opposition coalition by channelling RM90 million to the party’s top leadership.
Sarawak Report Editor Clare Rewcastle-Brown had clarified that the claim was merely a “widespread suspicion”.
Earlier the same day, PAS Deputy President Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said the party would take legal action against the portal.
